This course is free for devolved Welsh public sector organisations and is fully funded by Welsh Government.

What we will cover

Our course will:

  • show you how to adopt a user-centred approach
  • help you to establish clear roles, responsibilities, and ways of working within an Agile team
  • show you how to plan a product roadmap
  • demonstrate how to facilitate a retrospective to reflect and improve ways of working
  • discuss how to create an environment for people to do their best work
  • show you how to demonstrate progress by working in the open
  • give you tips on getting started in your team

Course outcomes

By the end of this course, you will be able to:

  • understand the values and principles of Agile ways of working
  • explain the difference between a project and product mindset and how this links with different approaches (such as Waterfall and Agile)
  • create a service vision to deliver on measurable goals through Agile ways of working
  • assess the impact of building cross functional teams
  • reflect on ways to improve working practices within Agile teams
  • prioritise aspects of a product roadmap, aligned to your service vision
  • explain the importance of adopting a user-centred approach
  • begin to create an environment for people to do their best work

How you will learn

We ask all participants to complete our Digital and Agile: the foundations course first.

  • Currently delivered in English.
  • Currently delivered live on Microsoft Teams.
  • Over 2 days (14 hours).
  • 12 people per session.
  • Group tasks to help you in your learning.

Our courses are changing – in response to demand, we are introducing asynchronous training through Google Classroom to complement our existing offerings. You will have the flexibility to manage your own learning with the support and resources provided by our trainers.
